...That, and he's used to being alone. Before coming here, that was. Years and years of darkness, in more ways than one. It's not as if she's pitiable, or even needy. If anything, she had him at not having support. And hell. It was just hand-holding. Maybe the odd hug, from time to time. In time, of course.
And whatever. It helps.]
'kay. Apparently, when it sprouts, people here're gonna put some stuff around it to protect it for the elements. So we gotta give it a good anchor, alright? We're gonna start the best tree here.
[If something's not going to be done right, it may as well not be done at all, right? He lifts the packet to his mouth, and tears the top of it off with his teeth. One-handed gardening! to the sound of their communicators giving off the sweet, sweet sound of accrued Chroma.
His face screws up, and he coughs, half-laughing.]
Damn. Alien tree seeds smell awful. Wanna try?
[His thumb parts the packet a little, before he holds them out.]

Fiore gives him a dubious look, giving the trowel one more quick plunge into the dirt to avoid having to answer immediately. But curiosity proves stronger than self-preservation (additionally proving that she is indeed her brother's sister) and she finally leans closer to sniff.
Aaaaaaand she instantly recoils with a startled, offended cough. ]
T-that--! It... smells like expired mustard...!

Regardless, a laugh soon follows her reaction, as he takes away the offending seeds from her sight. (And smell.) ]
Oh man, yeah. You got it perfectly. I had no idea, other than it's bad, but you got it. Expired mustard. These trees must be really something to smell like that, huh. Or maybe all alien trees do. Who knows.
[Hole dug, he dumps the seeds right in the hole.]
Quick, put some water in. Then cover it up, in case giving 'em something to drink makes the smell worse.

But otherwise, yep, she's completely low-maintenance and sensible. ]
I really hope, for the sake of everyone who's going to admire them once they've grown, the trees themselves don't smell as terrible.
[ A girl can dream, and she's still lightly grimacing as she grabs the watering can, pours enough in as is satisfactory, and then sets that aside to pile dirt on top of the offending seeds as quickly as possible. ]
